Vigilant Guard Exercise 2014

The Pennsylvania National Guard hosted a Vigilant Guard exercise with scenarios taking place at eight locations throughout the Commonwealth from 8 through 15 May 2014. These exercises provide opportunities for military and civilian counterparts to integrate planning efforts between local, state and federal agencies in order to identify capabilities, streamline processes and policies and establish relationships and contacts between those organizations that would be called upon to work together in the case of a domestic emergency. All tolled, there were more than 2000 participants in this recent exercise and eight states/territories were represented through their National Guard troops. Vigilant Guard is a quarterly emergency preparedness exercise sponsored by U.S. Northern Command in conjunction with the National Guard Bureau. (U.S. Air National Guard Photo by Tech. Sgt.
