New Resource for Veterans Searching for Employment. Published Nov. 20, 2014 By Master Sgt. Shawn Monk 171st Air Refueling Wing Coraopolis Pa. -- A new program was announced by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry that provides free hotel accommodations to veterans conducting job searches outside the region where they live. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor has partnered with Hilton Worldwide to assist veterans, including National Guard and Reserve, spouses, and transitioning service members, in their job search. Pennsylvania veterans who are searching for employment, or attending job interviews or skills training, or are looking for new housing after getting a job offer in a different location, may be eligible for 100,000 HHoners rewards points per year that can be redeemed for free nights at Hilton Hotels. According to Julia Hearthway, the Department of Labor and Industry secretary, there is no cost to Pennsylvania for the program. Service members can visit their local PA CareerLink to learn more about how to take advantage of the program and to enroll. To find the nearest CareerLink, veterans can visit the JobGateway homepage at www.jobgateway.pa.gov and click the PA CareerLink Offices link.
